Studio Smiles Is Expanding
If you’ve visited Studio Smiles recently, you may have noticed a few changes taking shape next door.
We’re excited to share that our Highett dental clinic is expanding.
As our patient community has continued to grow, we’ve been working behind the scenes to create more space, improve appointment availability and make the overall experience at Studio Smiles even better.
The expansion includes an additional treatment room, a much larger in-house dental laboratory and a dedicated private consultation room.
An Additional Treatment Room
One of the biggest changes is the addition of a new treatment room.
As demand for appointments has increased, adding another treatment room gives our team more flexibility and helps us accommodate more patients throughout the week.
For our patients, this means improved appointment availability and greater capacity for everything from routine dental care through to more involved cosmetic, implant and surgical treatment.
Importantly, the goal of expanding isn’t simply to become a bigger clinic. It’s to make sure we can continue providing the same personal and attentive experience as Studio Smiles grows.
A Bigger In-House Dental Laboratory
We’ve also significantly expanded our in-house dental laboratory.
This is an area of the clinic that most patients don’t usually get to see, but it plays a huge role in the way we provide treatment.
Many dental clinics rely heavily on external laboratories for a large part of their restorative and digital dental work. At Studio Smiles, we’re able to complete a growing amount of this work right here in the clinic using our digital dental technology.
Our in-house workflow can include:
- Digital dental scans
- Designing dental restorations
- Same-day crowns in suitable cases
- Temporary teeth and provisional restorations
- Dental models
- Implant-related components
- Surgical guides
- Smile design and treatment planning
Having these capabilities in-house gives our dentists greater involvement and control throughout the process.
It can also mean faster turnaround times, easier adjustments and, in some cases, fewer appointments for our patients.
For example, rather than taking traditional impressions and sending them away, we can often use digital scanning to capture highly detailed information about your teeth. From there, some restorations can be designed digitally and created within the clinic.
It’s one of the areas of dentistry we’re particularly passionate about, and the larger laboratory gives us more room to continue developing this side of our practice.
A Dedicated Private Consultation Room
We’ve also created a separate consultation room.
Previously, many treatment discussions naturally took place in the dental treatment room. While that works well for straightforward appointments, we wanted to create a more comfortable and private environment for patients who are considering more involved treatment.
The new consultation room gives you a quiet space to sit down with our team away from the dental chair.
It’s designed for conversations about treatment options, costs, timelines, financing and any questions you may have before deciding how you would like to proceed.
This is particularly useful for consultations involving treatments such as:
- Dental implants
- Cosmetic dentistry
- Veneers
- Smile makeovers
- Clear aligners
- Wisdom teeth removal
- Sleep dentistry
- More complex restorative treatment
For us, these conversations are just as important as the treatment itself.
We want patients to feel comfortable asking questions and to have the time and privacy to properly understand their options.
Growing With Our Local Community
Studio Smiles has grown considerably since we first opened, and we’re incredibly grateful to the patients who have supported us along the way.
We continue to welcome patients from Highett and surrounding areas including Cheltenham, Moorabbin, Brighton, Sandringham and across Bayside Melbourne.
This expansion is another step in helping us meet the growing demand for dental care while continuing to invest in technology, facilities and the patient experience.
Our existing clinic remains open as usual while the finishing touches are completed.
