One of the most popular modern-day treatments, Invisalign is a great way to close any unwanted gaps without the need for metal braces. It involves a series of clear trays, also known as invisible aligners, made with an amazing 3D technology to help your teeth come into their new position, completely pain-free. The length of your treatment will solely depend on the amount of tooth movement required, however teeth are generally straightened within 6-12 months.
While traditional metal braces require regular visits to the dentist to get them adjusted, Invisalign gives you the invisible aligners upfront so that you can continue treatment without visiting the clinic. This allows for a comfortable, frictionless experience. As one of the world’s biggest 3D printing companies, Invisalign provides amazing technology allowing us to tailor your treatment to you. Transform your smile. Book an appointment today.
Invisalign is a type of teeth straightening that uses clear, removable aligners instead of metal brackets and wires. Invisalign treatment begins with a consultation with an orthodontist or dentist, who will take impressions, X-rays, and photos of your teeth. These records are sent to an Invisalign lab, where your custom aligners are made. You will be given a series of aligners to wear over the course of your treatment, which typically lasts around 12 months. Each aligner is to be worn for two weeks before being replaced with the next in the series. As you progress through the aligners, your teeth will slowly move into their desired position. Invisalign is a popular choice for adults and teens who want to straighten their teeth without the conspicuousness of traditional braces. Since the aligners are removable, they are also easier to clean than braces and allow you to eat whatever you want during treatment. If you are considering Invisalign treatment, talk to your orthodontist or dentist to see if it is right for you.
When it comes to straightening teeth, there are a number of different options available. Traditional metal braces are the most common solution, but they can be uncomfortable and conspicuous. Invisalign® invisible orthodontics offer a more aesthetically pleasing option that is also removable for eating and brushing. However, some patients worry that Invisalign won’t be as effective as metal braces. In general, Invisalign® works well for patients with mild to moderate teeth crowding or spacing issues. Results typically take about the same amount of time as traditional braces, and the aligners can be removed for special occasions.
However, Invisalign may not be suitable for patients with more complex dental problems. Ultimately, the best way to determine which teeth straightening solution is right for you is to consult with an orthodontist.
Many people are not sure if they need orthodontic treatment and this is normal. The best way to find out is to see an orthodontist for a consultation. Here at our Melbourne Orthodontic practice, we offer free consultations so that you can come in and meet us, ask any questions you may have, and get an idea of what the treatment process would involve. We will also be able to assess your individual case and give you an idea of whether or not treatment would be recommended. If you decide to go ahead with treatment, we will be able to create a customised treatment plan for you. So if you’re wondering “Do I need orthodontics?” then the best thing to do is book in for a consultation and we can help you figure it out.

Invisalign provides many benefits for those looking to partake in treatment.
Some of the benefits include:
Alternative to traditional metal braces
There won’t be any need to book regular appointments to adjust the wires on your metal braces. You’ll be given clear trays in advance to continue treatment on your own terms.
You may have to wear them all day, but the best part? They’ll be virtually invisible. No one will notice that you’ve got your clear trays in unless you tell them!
Addresses other dental issues
Not only can Invisalign straighten your teeth, but it can address other underlying dental issues you may have such as bite alignment and gaps in the teeth.
If you’re looking to get started on your Invisalign journey, don’t hesitate to get in contact with the team at Studio Smiles. You can do so by calling the clinic directly or messaging us on Instagram. Book an appointment now for your smile transformation.
The Invisalign process is an exciting one. It’s the first step to a life-changing smile.
To begin, we sit down with you to chat about your wants, desires and needs. We take a thorough approach in getting to know you to make sure you get the best end results. We’ll also be able to use 3D technology to take images of your teeth, allowing us to have complete accuracy when mapping out your Invisalign journey for you. You’ll be able to see your entire smile transformation before you’ve even left our clinic!
Once we’ve agreed on your Invisalign journey, we’ll create your teeth aligners. You’ll be given a new set of teeth aligners every 1-2 weeks to slowly shift your teeth into a straighter position over the course of your treatment. Wearing your teeth aligners for 20-22 hours each day is vital to get outstanding results.
You might not be able to recognise yourself! After your treatment has been completed, you’ll be left with an incredible smile transformation. This will leave you with a new-found confidence and zest for life.

It’s important to remember that Invisalign is an investment in yourself. We want to make sure you’re making the most out of your treatment so that you can achieve your dream smile. While you can remove them to eat, drink and brush your teeth, you should realistically be wearing them for a total of 20-22 hours a day throughout your entire journey to receive the best results.
Potentially, yes. But not necessarily. Often patients initially find they develop a slight lisp when they speak with Invisalign, affecting the ‘s’ and ‘th’ words they pronounce. However, as you slowly adjust to the teeth aligners, any lisps developed should slowly fade away. You’ll start to feel completely comfortable.
In general, patients report very little discomfort during treatment. Some patients may experience temporary soreness when they first start wearing the aligners, but this usually goes away within a few days.
Costs will vary depending on the individual and the treatment necessary. We believe in a transparent approach, so we make it a rule to provide all relevant treatment options and costs, including the advantages and disadvantages where relevant. This is an important part of our informed consent process. Patients may choose to opt for one of our interest-free payment plans to have their smile transformed now, while having the flexibility to pay later on their own terms. Payment plans can help alleviate the financial barriers to a healthy mouth. We want to make sure you feel completely comfortable with the next steps throughout your entire journey. Invisalign uses a series of clear, customized aligners to gradually straighten teeth. The aligners are made from a comfortable, smooth material that is virtually invisible.
The length of treatment varies depending on the individual patient. However, most patients finish treatment within 12-18 months.
Many insurance plans cover at least part of the cost of Invisalign treatment. However, it is important to check with your insurance provider to see what coverage is available.
You’ll need to brush and floss your teeth as usual, and also clean your aligners daily. It’s also important to avoid drinking hot beverages or eating chewy, sticky foods while wearing your aligners.
We strive to establish rapport and trust to help you feel completely confident on your smile transformation journey.

Dr. Sabrina Escuza
Dr. Sabrina Escuza takes great pride in providing a calm environment where patients feel safe to express their needs, and comfortable to ask questions. Empowering you to take control of your oral health journey is her number one priority. She will thoroughly explain your conditions, how they came to be, and what treatment options are available to meet your health or aesthetic goals. Each patient is unique, and she will strategically tie all the aspects of dentistry into an individual journey that will work best for you. It doesn’t matter if it’s a check up, or a complete change that you’re seeking – she will look after you.
Florida, USA is where home is for Dr. Sabrina. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Florida (Go Gators!), and her Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Melbourne, where she graduated with honours and an achievement award from the prestigious Delta Sigma Delta dental fraternity. Eight years of uni has made her addicted to education – she is fluent in Spanish, has studied philosophy and French, and now spends her free time learning about the most modern dental treatment modalities through continued professional development courses.
Dr. Sabrina finds great joy in the intersections of dentistry – healthcare and artistry, function/aesthetics and mental health, communication and comfort. She is meticulous with the design of a smile, considering everything from the physics of your bite to the color of the porcelain. One of her favorite areas is where surgery meets prosthetics – sometimes losing a very broken down tooth means creating a healthy space for a beautiful replacement that will get you eating without pain and smiling without shame.
Apart from dentistry, Sabrina (not so) secretly thinks she is a master chef, and can be found trying to feed her friends the excessive amount of food she cooks. She loves music, a good picnic in the sun, and her dog, Nile.
